I think it's fun, but also for my group it ends up being more of a "normal campaign plus pirate dressing", because they just want to be heroic anti-pirates.

I'd love to see a group who really wanted to engage with the aspects of infamy, real piracy, maybe some more downtime management stuff, etc.

My home Pathfinder campaign has been my custom mash-up of Razor Coast + Skulls & Shackles. So pirates, ships, ancient jungle ruins, undersea eldritch gods, all kinds of stuff. It's been very fun, though nautical stuff can get clunky and hand-wave-y sometimes.
