it doesn’t negate the criticism, but this is also big army’s way of controlling the situation. It brings them under command while setting them apart from actual officer corps with all the authority of (checks notes) a lieutenant colonel.

I think that decentralized, censorship resistant means to transmit value have narrow use cases where the trade-off with irreversibility, inefficiency and lack of economies of scale is worth it.

Slightly more seriously. It's crazy how the entire supposed constitutional theory of Trump 2.0 is that all power is vested in this single individual, down to every last tiny detail and whenever you ask him he's like "I have no idea; ask the lawyers"
