Thanks again! Mum was in aged care from 2009-2014 but I couldn’t remember what fee we paid then. I see there is a cap of $100 a day with maximum $135,000 so perhaps things haven’t changed that much since then. I was shocked however to see that facilities can now keep a percentage of the bond paid!

‘Non-clinical Care Contribution (NCCC): This is a new, means-tested fee introduced for those entering residential care from Nov 1, 2025. It specifically covers non-clinical personal care costs such as bathing, mobility assistance, and lifestyle activities.’

Is it true that people will have to pay for these same services like showering when they are residents in aged care as well?

Stricter rules regarding sealing food & making packages tamper proof would be a start! Criminal charges must be laid.
