THIS is why @andrewknack.bsky.social can't be trusted with his blue shoes... He wears them with his suits 👀

Proposals like this have nothing to do with representation and everything to do with gerrymandering. #ableg

Beyond proud to sign the forever-canadian.ca petition in Old Strathcona this morning.

Alberta is better in Canada, and Canada is better with Alberta. #ableg

That wraps up Stampede 2025 for this guy.

Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to say hi and for the fun weekend in #yyc 🤠

Excited to be back home so I can spend some much needed time with the family after a weekend away!

There was a time when government made legitimate attempts to consult and listen to Albertans on major policy decisions.

Now, the UCP is just going through the motions to push out whatever they want.

From a provincial pension to provincial police, no one voted for this. #ableg

I'm so looking forward to moderating this discussion tomorrow morning at Non-Profit Day 2025!

With how divisive politics has become in recent years, it is important to find ways to bridge the growing divides and have constructive political conversations.

"Even though they’ve been in power for six years now, it’s always the fault of the federal government or the Alberta NDP for why things are the way they are today... At some point, you have to accept responsibility..." #ableg

With three by-elections happening across the province, I wanted to revisit an article I wrote back in November about how progressive campaigns can build stronger campaigns. #ableg

In the article I wrote, I discussed the idea of purity testing being a major barrier to young men getting involved with the progressive movement.

To be clear, there is no place for -isms and -phobias in our movement.

But attitudes like this push these men away. #ableg 🧵

Did you know men between 18-44 make up 33.5% (987,420) of Alberta's eligible voting population?

Did you know that only 37-39% of them would vote for us today?

Our movement needs to win back young men to our side of the aisle if we hope to win the next Alberta election. #ableg

The infighting in the UCP is in full swing on the separatist question.

But this isn't a partisan issue. If you want the "Alberta Advantage" to leave forever, separatism is a surefire way to do that.

It doesn't matter who you vote for - we are all Albertans and Canadians #ableg

In her address on Monday, Premier Smith warned of those who "will seek to divide us" when speaking about her separatist agenda.

Here's the thing: there is only one side literally trying to divide us, and that is the Premier and the UCP themselves.

Separatism is division.

Investors need certainty. That is a major reason why capital fled out of Montreal during their referendum days.

Alberta has a $5.2B deficit before the current WTI price drop (every $1=$750M lost), we can't afford to drive investment away further. #ableg

While Premier Smith was on tv fanning the flames of separatism to distract from her corruption - I was using my voice to denounce separatism and chaos.

I will always stand up to ensure this province has the best future possible - and that future is right here in Canada 🇨🇦 #ableg

There's already lots of commentary about how both recovery and safe consumptions sites are both necessary and important tools we need. It isn't one or the other.

But this bill has a high risk of unintended consequences beyond the obvious, including more people on the street 🧵

One day, we will have a government that puts people at the heart of everything they do.

One day, we will have a government that leads with humanity, not soundbites.

But one day doesn't happen by accident. If you want to see good governance again, get involved today #ableg

Outside of the pure absurdity of abandoning codes of conduct, if passed, would remove rules around gifts and personal benefits, improper use of influence, and use of municipal assets/services (to name a few).

Who is asking for this? #ableg

"PFS will no longer supply food to non-inpatient areas..."

"We recognize that some patients may spend extended time in our facilities and expect or require access to food. Clinics are encouraged to remind patients to bring snacks, meals, or money for food purchases..."

So the provincial government has done exactly what the Alberta Law Foundation said they would, and then some (Bill 39)

Offsetting gov't financial obligations at the expense of non-profits is one of many examples of how the UCP just doesn't get it.

When my daughter is older and asks about her first professional hockey game, I can tell her that it was for a league she could play in one day.

And that's pretty dang cool.
