This is perhaps my favorite shot of a Northern Flicker. I was able to get close to this beauty as it worked on a potential nest. I don't think it actually nested in this tree though.

Aloha on this #InsectThursday! The most common butterfly we've seen during our Kaua'i visit is the non-native Gulf Fritillary. (Have also seen Monarchs on the wing, but no pics of them yet.)💚
