I can't recommend the Steam Deck enough for lapsed gamers. I haven't played games consistently since the X360 days.
I use the Steam Deck with Xreal Air glasses, snuggle on the couch with the kids, stream AAA games from my PC, and hook it up to a USBC monitor. It's amazing.

My 6y old likes to go through photo memories since it’s 95% her & her sister.
Going through them, I tell her how cute & beautiful she is in the pictures, how funny & smart she is, how lucky we are that she’s in our family.
And she replies “dad I don’t know why my farts smell like lettuce”.
