Happy Halloween! I did a closet cosplay of Gerard Way in the Helena music video for my vocal lessons last night. Even got a still from me during the lesson and I'm really happy with how it turned out! Might make this my go to casual cosplay.

Started the right sleeve yesterday. Just basted half of it with the design in white thread yesterday and then started doing the lines today.
So thankful work has been light. I've been binging all of Make Some Noise as I sew this.

Filling these in was so satisfying. All the big flowers are done on the back and both sleeves!

For the flowers, I traced them in Illustrator just so I could get a more accurate/symmetrical pattern and then I transfered those to a clear vinyl sticker paper. Used that as a nice way to pattern the basting marks. I also used it to make sure the back flowers were correctly spaced apart.

I started by basting the design with white thread on the front and then painstakingly sewing each sequin by hand. It's been a long but very rewarding process.

I had the brilliant idea to use clear vinyl stickers as stencils. I just wish I had thought of this earlier so I could've done it for all the other lines and flowers I had already done 😭

I started painting on my desk and then painted on the dress form bc my brain works better in 3D than 2D. (It's why I always drape pattern instead of block pattern lol)
I also raided my button stash for 3 matching gold buttons to replace the black buttons. Really steps it up!
Just sleeves left!

I decided to throw together Bobby's "Golden" look for San Japan so I can be Bobby for both Saturday and Sunday without rewearing the cosplay. (Don't wanna be that stinky person at the con!)

Then the fun part! Bringing my crafting supplies to FedEx so I could cut out, laminate, then cut again the badge! One of the workers asked if I wanted a job there cause I was such a pro lmao

Next step was recreating his badge in Illustrator. Had the brilliant idea to put in a photo of myself and also changed the backdrop logos to my own logo.

Second step was being super lucky and finding a great blazer at the thrift store for $7.57.

Hobbies (cosplay, music, writing) have taken a backseat the last few weeks as I deal with some medical shit. But I'm proud of myself for finally giving SSRIs a shot, even if the side effects are currently kicking my ass.
