For those who have not played the original Guild Wars, there is an intentional way to skip ~80% of the original campaign and unlock a ton of content early.

Shoutout to "Cloaked Paradox" for running from Ascalon City to Yak's Bend, Droknar's Forge, and then Lion's Arch. 💯🔥

For this playthrough I do plan on doing Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and EotN in order, but having this content unlocked will let me cook up a cracked build pretty early.

It has been really fun talking to other players. Pretty much everyone (myself included) is giving similar stories of "I used to play this game when I was 13, now I am playing again in my 30s with a wife/husband/kid/house/career/etc."

This game was really important/impactful to a lot of people. 🥹

Interesting interface bug found with the new task tracker in Guild Wars Reforged. Repeatedly bringing up the interface menu moves the task tracker up the screen.

I had trouble signing in to comment in the bugs and feedback forum thread, but I did submit a bug report to @guildwars2.com support.

Alright I made it to post-searing and completed a couple of quests. It is way past my bed time, but oh boy am I having a blast playing Guild Wars Reforged! Absolutely one of the best RPGs of all time! 🥳🎉

Oh and on a new character you don't immediately get access to mercenary heroes after reaching post-searing. 🤔

I can't remember if it was always like that or whether this is new. Either way it is going to be fun to try and do all the missions with other players for the first time in like forever.

Hey I had a bunch of goodies in my Xunlai Chest!

This is the first time I have left pre-searing with other human beings since 2007! I love Guild Wars so much man... 🥹

"..the most master Mesmers eschew illusions for mental domination."

This random pre-searing quest-giver just so happens to know the PvE meta of maxed domination magic mesmer casters. 🤔

This is the most people I have seen in Ashford Abbey since the late 2000s!

Currently RPG-maxing while waiting for Guild Wars Reforged to download. 🔥🧙‍♂️

Throwback to 2022 when I beat the original Guild Wars Trilogy (plus Eye of the North) for the first time since owning the game as a kid. Guild Was *was* and *is* one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I am so pumped to start another full playthrough!

Can we go meta with codebases for languages that are themselves languages? 🤔

python github.com/ashn-dot-dev...

Also currently porting that project to Go, so optionally also Go???

Bonus spicy ground turkey skillet with avocado meal prep, because I was in a cooking mood again after rotting for 5 hours playing osrs!

I’m not very familiar with modern (2010+) cross platform graphics programming. What engine architecture / strategies do you use during development in order to get reasonable builds and debugging on multiple platforms?

The timeline of information distribution is cyclical. We've wrapped all the way back around to "your aunt just making shit up when you ask her a question as a kid" levels of reliability.

NixOS gives me the same feeling Kubernetes - technology that solves some of my problems in a way that introduces a new *fancier* set of problems which I am significantly less knowledgeable about and significantly less enthusiastic about diving into.
