I revisited our Steam Overlay workaround, and it looks like Valve changed something about the overlay, and now it renders correctly over transparency?! I think this means unless something else comes up, we should be able to have the in-game overlay supported again...

Sheesh, these notifications on Windows 11. I've never visited Yahoo - and yet out of the blue, Microsoft Edge prompts me to pin Yahoo to the taskbar? WTF?

Completely out of the blue, Windows 11 just showed me this notification. This seems highly dubious - isn't Microsoft fighting antitrust cases about this sort of thing at the moment?

It's just an early prototype so far, but got TypeScript type checking and precise autocomplete working in the Construct editor! Hopefully will be ready for the next release cycle.

An absurd and ancient part of Windows is there's only support for a few possible icon overlays in Explorer. Only the first few registry keys under ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers are used - ordered alphabetically. So different apps fight to have the most spaces at the start to come first 🫠

Been working on a whole series of upgrades for Construct's own macOS exporter - amounts to almost a complete overhaul. Includes tools to help with signing and notarization. Should make macOS exporting much better. Coming in next release cycle!

One of the annoying things about making a web app is buggy broken third-party stuff that breaks it - browser extensions, antivirus, and VPN have all broken Construct before, and then people come to us for support. We've had to write all this in Construct's load error message!

According to StatCounter the usage share of Linux on desktop has doubled over the past 2-3 years. Looks like a significant jump compared to the previous trend (graph goes back to 2012). Wonder why? Seems like a good time for a new Linux export option though!

Our Linux wrapper now also works on ARM! It can run on Raspberry Pi, which NW.js didn't previously support.

Somewhat bizarrely, the new Linux native wrapper actually seems to work when run with WSL on Windows! I can't think of any particular reason it's useful though...

Kiwi Story running on Steam Deck with our own wrapper! Good progress but still lots to do...

Got Space Blaster running in our custom Linux wrapper! Audio playback and gamepad input seem to be working OK too. Still plenty to do though.

Quite a lot of work to get to this point, but... the beginnings of a custom Linux wrapper!
