Baseball and all things Cincy | I like to think I'm a writer.
I'd do it for $100. That covers my electric bill for one month in the winter.

I would say that if people can't do a little critical thinking when reading the article and watching the video, and only focus the word "alleged", then we've got a bigger problem.

Just because it's clear as day, doesn't mean reporters can bypass the standard. I'll argue this point forever.

Personally, I'm just glad to see at least one media outlet abides by journalistic standards.

Isn't it better for journalism to have one set of standards that applies to all situations? Reporters are supposed to be first, but also accurate. They would never be able to get news out quickly if they have to apply a different standard and use different words for every incident they report on.

Doesn't matter, even if it's obvious. They still have to say "alleged". I believe this exact question came up in my journalism ethics class. Until it's legally (key word) proven that the guy committed the crime, they have to say alleged or claimed.

Going back to my journalism classes here, a reporter has to write alleged until he is charged, I believe. (I don't remember if it's convicted or charged..it's been a while since college).

It's definitely a journalism standard to say "alleged" if the person hasn't been charged yet.

Snow plow trucks came down her street at 10:15. After clearing my car (for the second time tonight), made it home by 11. Long day, but very fun day. Love my friends.

You and me both. I don't know how people actually like this season.

Where was this suggestion three years ago? 😂

At this point, I'll just live with what I got, since I plan to move anytime between three and 14 months.

One thing that will be a necessity whenever I buy a house is actual pantry space. Can't get that in an apartment.

Gotta take advantage of those sales when you can.

The internet thing could've been an accident near where I live. Who's to say?

There is something being built very close to where I live, so there's been a lot of construction and it's probably all related.
December 12, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Yes, they did. It actually was back on around midnight last night, which tells me it was definitely related to whatever those workers were doing.

The internet discourse absolutely sucks.

Fixed it for you.

Hopefully, or my landlord's gonna get an earful. (He is a nice guy though...it's probably not his fault). I just know the entire building has to be out as well, so he's probably already got some calls.
December 12, 2025 at 4:48 AM
I got a text notice this afternoon saying my Internet was out for about two hours, so now I'm wondering if these workers have been out there all day and if they know what they are doing.

I'm pretty sure if this was planned, I would've gotten a notice saying the water was going to be turned off.

Thankfully I have a Brita filter in my fridge and bottled water, so I can drink and brush my teeth, but that doesn't solve my shower problem. Was literally about to get in the shower.
