Baseball and all things Cincy | I like to think I'm a writer.
Worked out tonight for the first time in a week and a half. I felt every bit of it.

I have to go to the grocery store. Drove by a Kroger, and nope, not doing that right now.

People are crazy. We're getting 3-5 inches of snow. You're not going to be locked in your house for days. But then again, schools were closed today for one inch...

....and I have no water. Looks like I'm not taking a shower tonight after all. In the four years of living here, I've never had this problem before.

Taking everything in me right now to not to book a flight to Arizona for the first weekend of spring training. I'm already so over winter. (The snow and brutal cold won't even be here until the weekend).

A team took money they didn't use for Schwarber and paid another free agent with it?

What a novel concept.
BREAKING: The Baltimore Orioles and Pete Alonso have agreed to a five-year, $155M contract, a source confirms to @ken-rosenthal.bsky.social.

If a lockout wasn't looming over the 2027 season, I'd consider not going to any MLB games in 2026. But I love baseball too much to do that, and I'm going to need my fix before all hell breaks loose next offseason.

Now that I've read and listened to his comments about Schwarber and the Reds budget, Nick Krall's comments annoyed me more than the Reds actually missing out on Schwarber.
December 10, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Called it. I knew he would end up back in Philly. This is why I didn't get my hopes up with the "rumors" of him to the Reds.

I feel like I've been fighting to stay healthy for a week and tonight is no different. With the number of people in my circle who have also been sick lately, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with the flu or a cold too, but I am trying my hardest not to let that happen.

If Kyle Schwarber actually signs with the Pirates, I will know that I'm living in an alternate universe.

With the Bearcats season in the toilet already in early December, I should have plenty of time to catch up on TV shows between now and the start of baseball season.
December 7, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Christmas event #1 finished. I get a little break and then Christmas event #2 is tonight. Whew, so much socializing today.

Brian Anderson is calling the UC-Xavier game tonight, and now I miss baseball.
December 6, 2025 at 12:37 AM
It'll always be UC.

Go Bearcats. Beat Xavier.
December 5, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Nick Krall can't say the payroll isn't changing much next season and also be "interested" in signing Kyle Schwarber.
December 4, 2025 at 3:24 AM
I got to WFH today and wow, it is such a luxury to be able to do so.
December 2, 2025 at 6:49 PM
My sister is working today (the medical field doesn't stop for holidays) and my dad is still recovering from surgery, so my thanksgiving day has consisted of TV shows, a two mile run, and cleaning up a glass bottle of tart cherry juice I dropped in my apt parking lot.

It's been nine months, but I finally have this item in my possession.

Four huge sports events in this city this weekend. UC basketball, UC football, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati.

Four Cincinnati losses. Lol, this city really is sports cursed.

I did not know the Jonas Brothers were in Cincinnati tomorrow night and now it is taking everything in me not to spend $55 on a ticket.

High school me would be disappointed in adult me if I didn't do it.

Welcome to Cincinnati, where a high school football playoff game getting moved to an NFL stadium becomes the biggest news story for an entire week.

Deleting the social media apps off my phone has been so good for me and my overall attitude in life and I will continue to limit my time, but man, it makes it hard when I want to vent in the moment.

@dougdirt24.bsky.social I got some very exciting news today.
