Golden can't win a Dem primary now, could run as an indie sometime. He's been so disingenuous, making up straw men to argue against like him claiming that critics in the district were dark money denizens. And his statement about what the majority supports describes Matt Dunlap yet he disses him.

I've been wondering if Troy Jackson could use money raised for a gubernatorial campaign for a House one. This looks to me like the FEC prohibits transfers from a state race to a federal one, although he could return $ to donors and ask for it back. #mepolitics www.fec.gov/help-candida...

A few weeks ago Deprez and I wrote about Dunlap vs Golden (and the Senate race, too). Here's part of what we said about these candidates and the ME-2 Dem primary race.
Also: National reporters should listen to people who live here. #mepolitics washingtonmonthly.com/2025/10/24/g...

We need an I Voted sticker archive. Maybe a contest or Hall of Fame, too.

Can we take a deep breath and treat each other respectfully during this primary contest and not claim that those with whom we disagree are being manipulated by some mysterious theys? Platner's former pol director Genevieve McDonald, is a smart, capable woman. @aobrien2024.bsky.social #mepolitics

Why are you saying Genevieve McDonald is being manipulated? She seems perfectly capable of forming her own conclusions and speaking for herself. And who is "they"?

Platner's most recent rally was in Damariscotta. In 2024, Harris won 67.1% of the vote there, a higher % than the state (and of course ME-2) but also the First District. As this map shows, midcoast Maine is very blue. (Map is interactive at the link.) #mepolitics www.politico.com/2024-electio...

Someone reached out to me and said they took screenshots of a poll that sent to them, which appears to be the NRSC poll.
Check out the full wording read to people before they were asked about how/whether that affected their support. This was written to achieve a result. #mepolitics 1/

There was a wide variety of candidates, with diverse ideological perspectives in the 2018 Dem primary for ME governor. Look at how voters voted.
The top two finishers were the most moderate. That's based on voters' choices.

On the first round? Here's what that initial distribution of votes looked like. Mills got 33%. The top two vote getters were not progressives.
Don't know what that means for today though!

The Trump lawsuit against the NYT suggests Trump won by landslides in 2016 and 2020. That's blatantly false. He didn't win a majority of the popular vote either time and his electoral college totals were unremarkable.

This is a national poll, not a Maine one, but it's still worth noting regarding the Senate race and others. 58% want "an insider who can get things done" vs 42% "an outsider who wants to shake things up and change the system." #mepolitics
