General recommendation is ~ 1 acre/person. But it depends on how you go about it. Some say 100 sq ft/person of garden is enough, but requires full sun, excellent soils, and careful selection of crops. My garden has ~160 sq ft of growing space, and we’ve never grown but a fraction of what we eat.
