Great news! Is there a way to find out where it will be available in each state?

Someone told me that this app may seem very empty because of this default setting that requires replies to have 2 likes or more before they show up.

Indeed! I changed it so that all replies show up, and suddenly the place seems much more lively. I highly recommend changing it in your settings.

I just read that you need to go into your settings and set the replies to "see all" otherwise, your timeline will be dead. I just set it. Hope I see more activity here...or I'll just go back to Twitter until Apartheid Clyde makes me pay. Sigh...

Yes, do experiment with your settings about how many replies you see, but there's no universal solution! Increasing the number of replies in your feed may make it feel pleasantly lively or annoyingly irrelevant. Trial and error is the only way!
Counterpoint, I did the opposite and changed mine to a higher default number of likes because my feed was getting too cluttered with replies. Do whatever feels useful to you!

My main advice about making your feed more lively is to follow people freely. For me, it took following a few hundred people for my timeline to feel fully inhabited. Looking for interesting people to follow? See who your friends follow, and do keyword searches for topics of interest: goodfeeds.co

There is also this that effects how quickly you see posts.
Your default will be set to ‘2 likes’. Change it to ‘show all replies’ (second image) by dragging the bar to the left.
You can find this by going into settings then scrolling down until you find ‘Home feed preferences’.

Tired of hearing "the best way to avoid Long Covid is not to get Covid."

It's absolutely true but speaks from a place of privilege. Many don't have the means to avoid infection due to unsafe essential healthcare. Or have kids in unsafe schools.
