Anyhooo I dunno where I'm going with this thread, just some thoughts while watching.
I don't like that Lilo was physically left behind, but like... it's kind of realistic. Half my family is across the sea, but we are still very close. You can't sever that bond. 🧡

Last time I was on Guam, a gallon of milk was like $12. Cost of groceries is outrageous, unless you get them on a military base.
Most jobs don't offer enough for larger expenses, so you either supe up your car or get tattoos.

Small remote islands are fun to visit, but living there is a whole nother thing.
Unless you are a hardcore fisherman, government official, utility worker, teacher, etc, the opportunities are much better off-island. Or there's the military, if you want to travel.
