i adore woolen yarns. while damp and after a thwacking, this skein was longer around than the circumference of the drying rack. i get up in tne morning, and it's a perfect circle several inches shorter. 🧶

my cat is dying. she's 18, she's had a very good life for at least 17 of it, she's still purring when she gets scritches, but she is at the very end. so I'm making yarn, because the wheel is near where she spends time. 555 yards 2ply, south American wool pool. life continues, even as it ends. 🧶

operation weather-proof the upcoming expansion of the community pantry we host: layer one complete!
(the really fun part is the flipside is poly-coated because this is reclaimed gym hardwood flooring, idek how old but decades. we're leaving that side as is and face up, because it tickles me.)

sometimes @laurakqb.bsky.social and i amuse ourselves by trying to make phrases out of wordle guesses. i don't think we could ever hope to do better than this.

speaking of making things, i have been spinning, but mostly on my two treadle projects, which i either get to only for a few minutes at a time, or once every few days. i realized why i was avoiding my daily spinner, tonight experimented with a blend to try to get past it, & I'm pretty happy with it.

i still don't have all the faces sewn on so i can't finish assembling the other strips but i wanted SOME satisfaction on this e n d l e s s crochet project, so i put this one together. (this is large throw size: 4sq = ~5.5ft. thus the bad photo lol) 🧶

i am le struggle. embroidery is not my craft at the best of times, and the tracing paper failure + smudgy chalk backup is not the best of times. but i am trying to embrace the handsewn, upcycling nature of it... (while still trying to do things properly: look, a hoop! the back has interfacing!)

this skein took me a ridonkulous time to finish, but tis finished now! (except the finishing...) 450 yards, 4oz, dyed "chocolate" targhee 3 ply, probably fingering now, hoping for sport weight after its bath. made it to match a 3 ply bfl i have 12oz of so i should have a sweater quantity now. 🧶
