It's honestly the only worthwhile thing he could do.

I had an amazing hygienist who was so gentle and actually gave me consistently useful advice. But she's moved far away and I have an appointment coming up and no idea what the new person will be like 😟

Maybe one session can be focused on some less ouch bits? Two in one week could be a good chance to take a different approach than usual. Sending hugs 💞

I remember going to the LotR exhibition at Te Papa. Everyone else went through in less than an hour. I took 3hrs bc I was looking at every detail of every costume and prop 😅

One of those concrete umbrella stands would be perfect. I'd send you mine if I could, I currently only use it to prop the gate open 😅

If the bucket method can hold up a live tree i bet it can hold up your one!

If it's an artificial tree, the weight of the bricks is probably plenty without the water. The main thing is to get everything wedged in so the tree doesn't move.

For a finishing touch, add a festive piece of fabric around the bucket to hide the fact that it's a bucket.

One of those 10L buckets that tradies leave lying around. One person holds tree in place while another person shoves bricks in by feel. May need some half bricks or bits of wood to get everything tight and not moving. Add water, now you have a bucket full of bricks+water to counterbalance the tree.

A bucket with bricks in it, all around the tree trunk. Have done this my whole life and it works great.

I think you would be fine to make it and then just add something to the bottom part of the frame to avoid contact with the soil. I see there are suggestions of painting it or standing out on blocks. You could also staple plastic on (I've used empty compost bags as liners for treated timber).
