Contd: Part 5: Couldn't the the Germans have skipped the failed Nazi experiment and put their faith in liberal democracy already in the early 1930's? The position of this book that they could have.

Contd: Part III: Twelve years of Nazi rule didn't foster the German's material interests. Nazism led to the destruction of Germany and the death of millions. Later, when Germany adopted liberal democracy, this did lead to a lasting improvement in their lives.
