For context I asap managed to get a shiny nymble early game, finally decided to use it and evolve it so I had a Shiny Lokix. The game almost immediately then spawned a shiny Lokix.

So this happening (without a shiny charm because I was leveling up mons for dex completion evos) just had me like

Someone tell the pokemon shiny distribution system to make more sense I was down in area zero leveling up a bunch of pokemon for forever and thinking "huh it's weird I haven't encountered any shinies, maybe area zero just doesn't do shiny pokemon?"
