William Westall (1781-1850), “The Commencement of the Deluge” (1848), oil paint on canvas, 214.6 x 148.2 cm. Found the gorgeous *unidentified* detail first, and felt compelled to search out the artist/painting. I’d be interested to see this in person, but I never will, because I am a homebody.
