I’ve lived in DC through the “Protest is the new brunch” era, and while I do miss mindlessly sipping on bottomless mimosas, I’ve come to appreciate the grit, wit, and creativity that comes from protest. The #TaylorSwift inspired signs hit me in the deepest places of my cathartic heart.❤️🫶🏻

Over the last week, I’ve found a lot of comfort & happiness at used bookstores. They capture a world not yet tarnished by AI, corporate takeovers, dollar-driven politics, or echo chambers filled w/ fear-mongering & conspiracy theories rather than facts. Used books are like a warm, wool blanket.

I have countless “red light” photos like this one, taken out my driver’s window while waiting at a red light in Washington, DC. I find myself wanting to capture more of this beautiful city. I love you, DC. Hang in there.✨
