The paint I got at Michaels for like $5, the UV flashlight at Harbor Freight for $9. Made stencils out of paper and clear packing tape. I'm satisfied with it

If you need to entertain a tot, may I recommend getting fluorescent acrylic paint + a UV flashlight and have them look for "clues"? I painted these cat paws on scraps of cardboard and hid them around the house (and then, as she found them, would sneakily move them to new spots). 30 minutes of fun

Not that I ever doubted the severity of the challenges (I have anxiety and so, assumed the worst) but I'm about halfway through an 11-day stretch where I'm basically solo parenting my 2-year-old niece actively for 6+ hours a day and this shit is RUGGED. How do parents do this? And SINGLE parents???

Some more progress. I expanded the eye holes in that Spidey mask under plate thing because I am going to need all the visibility I can get. Also learned how to make something out of EVA foam by shaping it with a Dremel. Ain't perfect but who among us is

I did discover a new satisfying process, though: bending coat hanger wire around a curved rigid form (in this case, a screwdriver handle) to create really nice rounded bends for these spoke things I had to make
