One thing I really enjoy about the article is it’s approach 2 substantive knowledge: it’s a gr8 case for the power of concepts from the human sciences (sociology & anthropology) as scaffolds 4 sustained knowledge development over time. Knowing never need B reduced 2 Gradgrinding about ‘facts’. 2/2

I don’t think u can start 2 challenge a polemical political culture centred on emotionally triggering & bogus identity narratives without confronting dishonesty itself. It really was the Tsar & Autocracy needed challenging directly & totally.The same’s true of Brexit & other conspiracy theories. 3/3

I am reminded of how Russians used to protest against autocracy without blaming the Tsar… it was the wicked ministers not “rodnoi otets” (our little father). It didn’t work - the Tsar’s Imperial Guard shot them down anyway…. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody_... 2/3
