Looks like Charlie Kirk’s killer spoke groyper.

A THREAD.
1. A few hours before this morning’s presser, in which law enforcement authorities announced they had taken into custody Charlie Kirk’s killer, Meghan McCain, daughter of the late John McCain, weighed in on “the fundamental difference between the right and the left in this country.”

I looked up what I wrote about QAnon, Epstein and Trump a few years ago and opine about why Trump has suddenly gone bonkers on the subject.

What I wrote about Trump, Epstein, and QAnon last year. I don't think Trump's side of the equation is particularly complicated. MAGA's is another story.

I grew up feeling different, because I was. There weren't many Jews where I grew up and I wore thick glasses, which made me irresistible to bullies. 50, 60 years later and 100-plus days into Trump 2, I'm starting to wonder if the mismatch wasn't between me and my town but me and my country.

"Perhaps the most surprising aspect of these claims," the article says, "is that they are being streamed on a service owned by the president of the United States." In other news, I read this morning that RFK Jr. is talking about chem trails.

If, say, Pinochet's or Duterte's government had disappeared the wrong person, an accident would have been arranged to prevent them from telling their story. Extrajudicial murder will be Trump's--and America's--Rubicon.

Every day without proof of life brings us closer--if we're not there already.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM

My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social.

The governing ideology of the far right has become a
monstrous, supremacist survivalism.

Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Not being allowed to hand water to people in line to vote no matter who they are voting for, while being allowed to hand people million dollar checks to get their vote, is the most American thing ever.

Has anyone else noticed that their Discovery feed has filled up with sports content? I follow no one sports-related and I never click on any of the skeets. And yet they keep proliferating. Is this a glitch or a new algorithm?

It’s not just the tariffs that are going to wreck the US economy. There will be product boycotts as well as a decline in tourism and conferences held in the US because people have other options and won’t risk this stuff. The US is internationally viewed as a dysfunctional country (as it is).

I wonder how many people are waiting for the Musk/Trump administration to go too far, in the hope that some higher authority will step in to check them. Who, I wonder, do they see as that higher authority? Daily tracking polls? The Supreme Court? The military? Non-MAGA billionaires? The media?
