I know the feeling. Had a pretty rough week as well. All I can say is that it fades with time, and eventually you do get that energy back.

I’m a big nerd for musical theatre and have a massive weakness for romance lol. Plus I enjoy autuer driven art a-lot more than your by the numbers corporate product. The Hellaverse hits the right beats for me and scratches that itch for sincere inspired work on a massive scope.

I think Viv struggles to hit her vision with HH but that’s mostly because of the circumstances of its production physically not allowing her to do so (budget / episodic limit). That being said, there’s always more than one way to look at a piece of art.

Thats in terms of quality and how well I feel the author / director achieved their vision. For personal enjoyment:

A lot of VP criticism is very similar to Steven Universe / Rebecca Sugar criticsm. They accused her of everything, from racism, pedophilia, fascist apologia etc. It was very strange.

Shattering was revealed to be completely reversible, Blue Diamond kept a sanctuary which held members of every species from every planet they ever colonized ensuring repopulation was a possibility, Yellow Diamond LITERALLY spent years restoring damaged gems, and planned to fix the cluster etc.

I genuinely think Spice N’ Rice or a Hilton would be more than happy to hire you lol. Just be honest with yourself and say you feel entitled to a 200K a year salary lmao.

Indian Americans are 1.5% of the population, around 5 million max. They want to frame this as the other ‘being a threat to their jobs and way of life for ALL Americans’ but given the types of work Indians traditionally do (STEM), upper class white men stand the most to gain from their exclusion.

Ironically, it’s due to the fact that even imageboards have mods and jannies lmaooo. They prevent people from veering off topic, keep the discussion relevant to the niche space, and the shit stirrers are able to congregate into their respective containment boards.

Insta’s unmoderation is a lot more lowkey and goes under most people’s radars since it’s mostly confined to the reels, but it’s still pretty bad, given its reach.

And yeah, I’d second that, a lot of imageboards are weirdly less toxic than fucking Twitter these days.

Insta is bad for reels and TikTok turns a blind eye every once in a while. YouTube is extremely stringent in some places and too lax in others.

Reddit was famously excellent at curbing bigotry and still is, but some massive blind spots aren’t being addressed. Theres tons of subreddits that constantly violate the TOS.

Musk rewrote the Twitter algorithm to maximize suffering and misery, and reward toxicity.

It’s like this for everything now. Discourse has genuinely become so much more unproductive and hateful. It’s people hyping themselves into a frenzy and then moderation just staying hands off until the peoples rhetoric becomes fascistic and genocidal.
