Le premier qui m'ait véritablement marqué.

Au bout, un escalier monte vers une grande roue dentée en pierre, qui ne semble pas faire partie d'un mécanisme. À gauche, le terrain est plus élevé et on voit une partie d'un bâtiment circulaire. À droite, la proue d'un bateau en partie immergé. La mer est d'un bleu presque vert, et le ciel semble brumeux, d'un bleu très pâle, presque gris. La seule interface du jeu est un curseur en forme de main, au centre de l'écran.

It reminds me of Witch Hat Atelier. I've personally never really held a pen to draw, but Shirahama is obviously pouring so much of herself into her work that even I am moved to tears.

Received some good @cyan.com merch today! I bought all three mats because I couldn't choose which one to use. Well, that only delayed the choice, but having them up close is great!

What was your way into Lex Luthor? I really understand Lex. I feel like I relate to Lex way more than I wish I did. But for me, Lex looks at Superman like artists look at AI. He is the world’s greatest man in so many ways. He’s done these unparalleled things. And then you got a guy who comes in who’s done nothing to deserve the ability to fly and to smash down buildings. And he’s also extraordinarily handsome, too. And all of a sudden that’s all the world is talking about. And that sort of obsession with being replaced, with being — with your gifts not being seen or passed over — I think is what drives Lex. I relate to everything he does. He’s just meaner than I am.

Myst, and even more so Riven. I love it more and more with each passing year, as I gain a better appreciation of its meticulous worldbuilding and art direction.

Even Red Dead Redemption 2 ("the current holder of the crown") gets "some things wonky that look better in this demo. Whether that applies to the game as a whole is to be seen. But Red Dead has its share of, like, the four legs being bent in situations where they shouldn't be. And I don't like the faces of the Red Dead horses." The 2024 remake has settled it:

Riven

I've never seen a game where the world is so thoughtfully designed down to the smallest details. It's so immersive I forget I'm playing a game.

Day 29: Your Most Anticipated Game

I'm really excited for the next Myst game Cyan is cooking up. I sincerely hope they are able to bounce back after the last layoffs...

Day 28: Favorite Genre

I can never settle on a single answer...
I really like RPG, especially western ones like The Witcher or Dragon Age. And I'm mostly fond of immersive sims, and narrative puzzle games!
Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Several adventurers are facing a roaring dragon. Dishonored 2. We see half of Corvo's mark next to the other half of Emily's face, wearing her scarf. Obduction. We see a strange alien world on which is sitting a typical American rural house, which looks very out of place here.

I also came to love Yeesha's speeches in Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.
Weird, cryptic dialogues that try to make you understand things through feeling. Through touching from the tip of your fingers notions you won't quite understand.
Different from Myst and yet at its core it's exactly right.

Day 26: Favorite Series

I could have said either Dishonored or Ace Attorney...

But the more I think about it, the more I love the series that started my passion for video games, the one I carry in my heart with all its brilliance, passion, flaws, enchantment and vision: Myst.
The Myst island (from the 2021 remake). An earthy path cuts between grass and pine trees and leads to a series of stone columns, 4 on each side, and a small round fountain. Just behind is a small ancient greek-like building, with 4 columns and a triangular shape above the entrance. Behind it is a tall spire of rock with a metal cylinder at the top. The whole picture is colorful, bathed in warm yellow sunlight. Picture from Riven. It's a small island with a large inner pond, covered in green algae in some places. A metal pathway leads foward, to a series of tall pointy rock spires, going upwards and sideways. Behind is a tall rock cliff where a giant dagger is planted and serves as support for a walkway. Day 25: Favorite supporting or side character

A lot of Bioware characters could make the list, but I tried to find some from other games too!

She is wearing a white shirt under a black corset, and a strap that presumably holds her quiver. Hugo de Rune, from A Plague Tale: Innocence. He is a 5-year old boy from the 13th century. He has short hair, a little unruly. He is wearing a sturdy shirt and a scarf. I would die to protect you my little boy. :'(

Je plussoie Lorelei, excellent jeu!

Je conseille aussi grandement Riven, la suite de Myst, qui a été remake l'année dernière, et aussi passé sous les radars.
Un chef-d’œuvre en terme d'immersion et de narration environnementale, qui intègre ses puzzles et son histoire de manière exemplaire.
Couverture du jeu Riven. On voit un gigantesque dôme doré, sur une île rocheuse. Un long pont de bois y mène, partant de notre point de vue. La mer autour est calme, mais des volutes de fumée en montent. Le ciel est très bleu, avec quelques nuages blancs.

I think it was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I pre-ordered it just before release, after the review embargo had lifted (just to see if it wasn't completely broken).

(Resident Evil is very much a recent impulse of mine, I'm usually more into adventure games or RPGs)

It's a little hard to describe other that it's human-like, very big, very ugly and very scary. Wanderstop. It's a very pretty vignette of pastel colors. The protagonist Alta is sitting on a bench next to Boro. Alta is a strong woman with white hair, a red headband, a red apron over dark clothes. She is crossing her arms, hunched on the bench, with a visible air of frustration. Boro is sitting next to her. He is a large, happy bald man. He is wearing a beige shirt and an apron (there is a spoon fixed to the apron). He is holding a letter.
