One of my older original characters I've had for quite a long time, Cimon (Cimone? I might add an e, it always felt like it read odd).

She was long overdue for a refresh on her design. She hunts gods. I've missed her 🥺

"He doesn't talk about it much, but when he does, he--....." She cut herself off with a short moment of silence as she glanced in Pravus’s direction. His arms were folded, but relaxed-- leaning against a wall in the corner. She noticed he had found the only spot in the room where everyone nearby was within his line of sight, though his focus was currently drawn elsewhere. She shook her head as she turned back to them. "The things he trusted me enough to share are horrible on their own. It's the things he might never be able to share with anyone that keep me up at night. All of that intelligence that they had otherwise surpressed ... it's only ever been funneled into learning how to survive. I think there's nothing in this universe he fears more than ending up back in the situation he was. And I think that fear is what makes a man like him so dangerous."

So I'm working on a short animatic for Sebastian (on the right) and....

You ever had two characters from separate universes in your head for so long, in the neighborhood of a decade, that they start making handshake bets under the table on their own 😆
Panel 1: A cowboy (Sebastian) on the right reaches his hand out to Pravus, who has leaned away from him in surprise. "Shake on whose backstory traumatizes the internet first?" Panel 2: Pravus contemplates, as Sebastian keeps his hand held out. Panel 3: Pravus shakes Seb's hand. Panel 4: Sebastian suddenly pulls Pravus's arm downward so that Pravus is leaned closer to Sebastian. Theyre at eye level now and Pravus’s eyes have gone wide. Sebastian is grinning. "It's gonna be me."

Been a while since I drew my demon cowboy, Sebastian, but I was scripting something that included him doing something wildly dumb and this was his response to me about it. I wheeze laughed about it for the entire 15 minute drive home so it had to be realized 😂
Panel 1: Well, y'know what they say....if you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough..." [A cowboy with swept back dark brown hair and strange markings along his arms and chest is speaking. He's waving off the comment in subdued jest.] Panel 2: "I only seem tough because there ain't a third option." [His expression falls to something somewhat deadpan and resigned.]

Page 7, Panel 1: “What…” The larger man looks up at the figure as the entire room is suddenly rattling. A light pops, and the walls and floors are seemingly cracking under pressure. Page 8, Panel 1: The walls are crunching in on itself, and debris is falling from the ceiling. Page 8, Panel 2: The window panes in the background are cracking, and the couches and tables look as if they are being pressed downward by an unseen force. Page 2, Panel 2: “I’ve heard he’s a slippery son of a bitch. Make sure those restraints are tight.” The blonde says, pointing at the other as they are tying the figure’s arms to the chair. Page 3, Panel 1: “What the hell is he wearing…” “Found him like this. Why do you care?” says the larger man as he continues wrapping restraints around the arms of the chair. Page 3, Panel 2: “Just…you sure it’s him?” The blonde says, squinting with skepticism. Page 3, Panel 3: “Take off the bag if you don’t believe me” the larger man waves it off as he’s tying around the figure’s chest. Page 4, Panel 1: The blonde reaches toward the bag hesitantly. Page 4, Panel 2: He pulls at the bag. Page 4, Panel 3: The figure sits in the chair, eyes closed. He’s wearing a white outfit with grey striping and some kind of tag, almost like an identification card, on the right side of his chest. In almost every physical quality beyond perhaps being a little more thin, it looks like Pravus. “Holy shit…” Page 5, Panel 1: “Every gang and cop is looking for this guy and you just pluck him out of a random alley? Something doesn’t add up.” “Doesn’t have to. He slipped up, I don’t give a shit how. He’s gonna pay for killing Ronnie.” The larger man yells, pointing at the figure. Page 5, Panel 2: “Reward money wants him alive, y’know.” “There ain’t enough money in the world worth killing this bastard with my own two hands.”
