And we were tracking this construction VERY closely as this is our station and our preschool drop offs and morning commutes are timed to the minute. It had to be known that this would be starting today and to not clearly communicate the details to the community is ridiculous. @mtainfo.bsky.social

YES!! My first experience actually understanding Shakespeare was with an incredible HS English teacher who had us read everything out loud together ❤️

In conclusion, trust your instinct to shake up that syllabus. Resist the lies and false promises of urgency and haste. Center softness and cultivate ensemble. Bring in the plays you love. Our students, the next generation of theater makers, deserve these gifts.

It means we are moving more “slowly” through each play but the feedback from students, especially those who learned English as a second or third language, has been really exciting. And they are PSYCHED for Melancholy Play - holding poetry and queerness and sadness and joy all together.
