Reading Sarah Ruhl’s “Melancholy Play” with my undergrads in class today. I made time in the syllabus to read the plays we are working on scenes from out loud as a full group and it’s been transformational. Important reminder of SPEAKING and HEARING plays together and not just reading alone.
