Stayed at a cute, newly renovated, Mid century motel in ABQ. Very nice! Not a “no-tell motel” by any means.

Hiked a little into the Mojave desert to locate the memorial for Lance Corporal Jason Rother. Lost and unaccounted for on a training hike in 1988 at age of 19. Wandered through the desert and eventually died of exhaustion/dehydration. His platoon never knew he was missing until several days later.

Was given the keys to this monstrosity. Like driving a semi truck. Got to watch some trains. I got a truck because I was going to camp in the bed of it, but overnight temps never cooled off. 94°F still around midnight. Hotel it was..
