The bug splatter celluloid from Welsh is one is one of my favorites. It’s just so odd! This is a full size combo and is a lovely cream color. I thought my other two were in good shape but they look like caramel in comparison. #welshfountainpen #fountainpen #fountainpenrestoration

A 1944 3 rib cap, flat bottom Esterbrook. I picked this fountain pen up at an antique store, in relatively good condition. My students definitely don’t know but they are getting their physics notes from an 81 year old. 🤣 #fountainpen #fountainpenrestoration #esterbrook

Witch’s Wand. I made some changes to the construction and am enjoying this new version. It will accept any reasonably standard dip pen nib, vintage or modern. And like all my brooms, it swept up the mess of its own making, entering the world with positive impact. #dippen #fountainpen #broommaking

There is a core of ebonite in the section to hold the nib and feed. The pen body is very thin metal. All these parts are friction, force fit together and because of that layered stress these pens are often found with section cracks, barrel cracks or both. See alt text for description.
