Guys guys GUYS. I saw a night heron on Sunday. I was so excited, I've never seen one before, even though they're supposed to be common in our region. I was so fucking happy.

Devil's food cake with vanilla mint American buttercream and mint chocolate ganache on top. Made this to use up the vanilla buttercream I made to ice cookies with the kids Saturday (monster cookies for Halloween. So many eyes...)

Or maybe Mrs. Miniver, which I have just unbridled adoration for, largely because I think Greer Garson was just so fantastic to watch. Such a fantastic face and voice.

I totally forgot to post my pics from The Welcome to Nightvale live show "Murder Night in Blood Forest" the husband and I went to last week in Phoenixville. Great fun! A doesn't follow the podcast and still was laughing and having a good time.

I made this yummy Asian noodle salad with gochujang, lime and ginger yesterday. I ate the leftovers tonight with a couple chicken nuggets out of the freezer chopped up, and let me tell you, that slaps

Got a lot of blueberries on sale and had to use them, so I made a blueberry buckle coffee cake. Kiddo thought it was fantastic. Little bird enjoyed helping me make it and would not taste it. 🤣

So I work this evening, so I had not planned to go fishing... until the little bird decided that 3:30 was the perfect time to be awake for the day.
So we went fishing when it was late enough to wake everyone else involved.
I caught my first smallmouth bass.
