fellow lifelong chypre lover/addict here! my heart belongs to oakmoss and patchouli in any combination 😍

I love the uncanny horsey animalic floral facets of narcissus and use them often for many non-floral themes. While of course PC is severely restricted there are a bunch of related ACs that are not so heavily restricted that I'm equally as fond of even if they don't have the same impact/power.

That would have been a sample of Mandy Aftel's Bergamoss solid perfume, which is a lovely happy antiquey peachy chypre. I had never smelled naturals-only fragrance having only worn commercial perfumes and that inspired me in my initial focus on natural perfumery (tho I now do mixed media).

and yet they can walk in and have a sensory experience, on the house no less, and try before buying. not like you can go into Starbucks and say "let me sample 5 of your blends" ...

when I went to Grasse I was desperate to smell oakmoss. I'd heard of it but never smelled. So literally an hour into my arrival at the museum I was like "can I smell oakmoss" and they took me to it. this is the shelf with a great big hunk of dried vetiver.
