The "left" has become a catch all term to demonize all progressives. It is not moderate to continue to allow corporate empires to form, income to be sucked from the majority of working class to the obscenely wealthy, etc. What was once mainstream FDR liberalism is now branded as far left.

No she's just a modern version of an FDR Democrat which was the mainstream during the heyday of the Democratic Party. She would have been mainstream 50 years ago.But the "center" of the Democratic Party has become so right wing that even any actual liberal is called "too far left."

Shouldn't criticize Connolly because he has been a good advocate against the GOP... But when it's time to step aside it's time to step aside. And the message this sends is that the Democrats remain stubbornly resistant to change.
