For nearly two years, Ōishi and the other rōnin secretly plot their revenge. They live in hiding to trick Kira into thinking they have given up their vendetta. Finally, on a snowy night, they attack Kira's mansion, kill him, and bring his severed head to their master's grave.

The story begins with a feudal lord named Asano Naganori who is forced to commit seppuku (ritual suicide) after he attacks and injures a corrupt official, Kira Yoshinaka, inside Edo Castle. Asano's loyal samurai become rōnin, led by their chief retainer, Ōishi Yoshio.

They are known for their ability to produce a loud squeaking sound when disturbed, and their larvae and adult moths have a habit of raiding beehives to feed on honey.

Essential for tasks like establishing control points, setting out structures, and measuring land boundaries, modern theodolites are often electronic total stations with integrated distance measurement.

The number seven in Bungie's games, Marathon, Destiny and Halo, appear in lore, level design and gameplay mechanics.

Presence of OWT advertisements and infrastructure are seen throughout.

OWT specialized in creating and managing vast networks of high-speed rail lines that connected human colonies across various planets in our solar system, most notably on Mars and Venus.

The most terrifying aspect was the permanent death of Guardians. Their Ghosts were not just destroyed; their Light was consumed, leaving them as permanent casualties.

The Vanguard was forced to order a full retreat, abandoning the Moon and declaring it off-limits.

Crota didn't just command from afar; he descended into the thick of the battle, cutting down countless Guardians. Stories describe the sky burning green and the very surface of the Moon cracking with his blows. Legendary Titans like Wei Ning were among those personally slain.

The Guardians deployed in massive numbers, intending to overwhelm the Hive with sheer force. However, they were met by a well-organized and ruthless Hive army led by Crota himself.

Guardians had no knowledge that Crota existed in his own Ascendant Throne World, making his physical form in our reality merely an avatar. Even if they "killed" him on the Moon's surface, he would simply retreat to his Throne World to regenerate, making him seemingly invincible.

The Hive Knights, especially Crota, wielded "Ascendant Swords" that weren't just sharp; they were paracausal weapons capable of severing a Guardian's connection to the Light, effectively killing them permanently and preventing their Ghost from reviving them.

Lord Shaxx, warned against it, advocating for more preparation and study of the Hive's unique weaponry, but his concerns were dismissed.

Crota, Son of Oryx, was not just a powerful Knight; he was a god-prince, imbued with immense power and was known as the "Eater of Hope".

After a victory at the "Battle of Burning Lake", the Vanguard and the City Consensus, believing in the strength of their Guardians, decided to launch a full-scale assault to reclaim the Moon from the newly discovered Hive.

Before the Great Disaster, humanity had little understanding of the Hive's true power, their Sword Logic (a philosophy of growth through killing), or their connection to the Ascendant Plane. They had a minor skirmish at Burning Lake, but it didn't fully prepare them.
