Extremely optimized sideboard from a GP Top 8, definitely not something I filled in with random cards I accidentally brought to New Jersey, definitely didn't play 2nd Volcanic Strength b/c I found a foil Korean one in that box before I found the 2nd Frostburn Weird.

At the first WOWTCG Regionals, the most valuable T8 prize was just a full art playmat of this card.

Using whatever authority this gives me to tell you all to cut every Illvoi Galeblade from your decks. Absolutely psychotic they printed split card Mulligan/Mana Short Yourself and people submit decks with multiples.

Turns out EOE is more fun and skill intensive than 80% of draft formats released in the last 3 years. All it had to do was be a basic draft format where attacking and blocking with commons decides games, and players can run out of cards that matter.

Bad cards I appreciate
You rarely need more 3s, but Brightspear Zealot does fine. Vigilance 2/4 has good lineups, the +2 upgrade has impact when it hits.
Format caps around 5/5, Rig usually trades up in any fight.
Rarely need more 5s, but per above Skywarden getting to 5/6 is weirdly huge.

Eusocial Engineering is a data trap. Has great stats with specific green cards, but those are high generic quality and contested. Medium as is. If Eusocial is good in your deck, your deck was already good. Take it as a payoff after the enablers even if the stats look like a proactive build around.

Combining these last two points, I dont think people get that Cryoshatter costs 1. Most of the "disaster" scenarios round the card to Swords to Plowshare or Unsummon with upside.

Black removal is replacement level. Every color has 1-2 common removal clearly better than all of the Black ones.
Radiant Strike and Focus Fire are good proactive removal. Focus Fire rate is in scaling up, format has a lot of races and 5 drop artifact creatures to Strike.

Black removal is replacement level. Every color has 1-2 common removal clearly better than all of the Black ones.

Dont count value 2 drops as 2 drops. Too many games lost on the draw bc they are effectively 0 impact. Luminary and Relic still very good, but Im generally low on Beetle. Its low impact without synergy, and the synergy cards are borderline codependent. Compare to Relic that just works as is.

Godmaw and Terrapact are more B- than B+. Godmaw's Hoof insta win promise is usually more 7 drop that wins in a turn with 7 drop liabilites, making the right Terrapact choice usually limits from being game dominating and 2nd Lander rarely matters.

Sick design in context of Llanowar Elves in Standard. Really context driven on play/draw, specific matchup, their lands whether getting to this a turn early is even good

Obviously Lotus Bloom is still good at Suspend 3 and would be cracked at Suspend 2. Would Sol Talisman be playable at Suspend 2? Would Mox Tantalite be too good at Suspend 1?

New thinker from the Dominaria's Judgment discord, via United Battlefront hitting Lotus Bloom.
Obviously Lotus Bloom is still good at Suspend 3 and would be cracked at Suspend 2. Would Sol Talisman be playable at Suspend 2? Would Mox Tantalite be too good at Suspend 1?

Completely cooked in the 2nd draft. P1P1 Ooze March, P1P2 was Thrillroller vs Boom Scholar vs Ride's End. Took Thrillroller, got no quality in any color, felt like white was open but also every white card was in the 50% of unplayables in the color.
