I applaud your idealism. However, Gates isn’t ignoring root causes. He is funding innovations in clean energy and carbon capture as well as calling for climate adaptation, public health, and poverty reduction. Both the fence and the ambulance matter for human survival and sustainable ecosystems.

COP30 was a wake-up call. Bill Gates has not sidelined or dismissed the threat of climate change. He has reframed his approach, emphasising human health and welfare, and adaptation, rather than focusing exclusively on greenhouse gas mitigation. Multiple tools, sources, and approaches are needed.

Bill Gates acknowledges the reality and risks of climate change. He is arguing for pragmatic prioritization of urgent health needs, not climate change denial. Policy must balance immediate welfare and long-term climate goals where synergy between climate and health actions is not guaranteed.
