My first thought on seeing usage stats was "well of course less people are running marksmans dodge. reloading your gun can be done by half of the perks in the game." The clarity is nice though especially for more controversial changes.

Wall street treats the economy like a farmer treats the weather. They're both indicative of a good/bad harvest, but for wall street we're the crops.

Oh that's perfect! I appreciate you grabbing the link for me and additionally all the work you put into making a video like this!

That's awesome to hear that you were able to get together and collaborate! I'm glad you all are in a position to be able to do that. Definitely wishing you the best during the rest of development and production!

Yeah I was struggling with how to word the question so it didn't sound like "why not use money?" The lack of funding is at the core of my question though. I thought the games industry had established itself pretty well at this point to get investors. Is it fall out from esports not paying out?
November 21, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Yeah that definitely makes sense. I guess I was just thinking about how a lot of studios have been born from the closures of old ones or people splintering off on their own. I haven't really seen anything like that from the last couple years of firings. Maybe I'm just out of the loop though.

What's stopping everyone affected by layoffs from getting together and making their own mega game studio? Is it solely money and the struggles of running a business?

To me Eldritch is very out of place. Beings from higher dimensions whose images are reflections of pieces of what they are. The human mind is trying to comprehend incomprehensible features and thus fills in the blanks haphazardly. I'd suggest pushing into the uncanny valley. Feathers the wrong way.

Yeah I was a contract tester years ago for the Beyond Light expansion and my name isn't in the credits anymore. I have to assume that there's a whole lot of missing names.

I love the male bird of paradise. It's one of the darkest animals in existence.

The problem is mainly that everything goes through the portal now. Pinnacles are gone, so no weekly dungeon, no easy strikes to gear up. We're forced to customize to a high difficulty activity for any progress. Solo ops are fun; playlists are fine. But it shackled everything to the bad progression

For sure, but utilities are fairly regulated by the government (for now). Combine that with the overly fearful public perception around the idea of nuclear waste and I think both legal and marketing would heavily avoid direct ownership of a plant. Much simpler to just bankroll the project.

Ahh, yeah that's fair. In my head, I was assuming that they're more likely to fund another nuclear focused company with the expertise who I inherently trust more. Putting together an inhouse team of nuclear engineers at Google feels less likely, but possible I suppose.

Energy is one thing that modern society will always need more of and non-renewable resources are non-renewable. There is a tipping point that will eventually be reached no matter how politicized it becomes. There is hope in this at least.

Nuclear power plants aren't bombs and modern reactor designs are heavily meltdown resistant. Some don't even use uranium which are the main culprit of such things.
October 4, 2025 at 12:17 PM
I agree with the sentiment, but nuclear's biggest issue is upfront cost. The current administration isn't going to give money to these projects because they're green. Nuclear energy's progress has been painfully slow for decades and any influx cash is a positive for the industry.
