i have zero interest in most modern low budget shlock because it’s doing this self conscious “haha so bad it’s good just like the 80s!” thing. but you can’t produce that intellectually. you need to be trying to make a normal movie and have it come out wrong because you’re a crazy person

I'm reading Oliver Twist as research for a story I'm writing and I 100% believe this man was paid by the word. Every sentence has at least 3x as many words as it needs and it makes for a surreal reading experience.

Then again, it's also a good exercise to re-train my broken zoomer attention span.

Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.

The One Piece Fan Letter special was utterly phenomenal, easy 15/10. It's all that I never knew I wanted out of a One Piece project. Everything Megumi Ishitani touches turns to gold, I swear.
