Excitted to have an interview I recorded with Willie Nelson 20 years ago be featured in a new book which is a compilation of 31 interviews. I was working for the Miami Herald in 2005 I talked with him about biodiesel fuel and his tour with Bob Dylan playing in old ballparks around the country.

Derelict block of East 2nd Street. You could walk out the front door straight to the river. Saw Taj Mahal, Roy Buchanan, The Band, Albert Collins, Killer Bees (Papa Mali’s old group) and a ton of 80s progressive rock bands there.

Our old friend John “Sonny” Payne would have turned 100 today.
Helena native, WW2 vet, swing band bassist, longtime host of “King Biscuit Time” blues radio show.
Blues Hall of Fame inductee.
I knew Sonny nearly 30 years, worked with him for 10+.
Many good times.

Man, I was just revisiting some of my Morris Day and The Time favorites last weekend. The first time I saw them live still holds up as one of the funkiest shows I've had the pleasure of attending. RIP Jellybean Johnson.

Singer Sippie Wallace (“the Texas Nightingale”) was born November 1, 1898 in Jefferson County, Arkansas.
Recorded 40+ songs in 1920s backed by Louis Armstrong, others.
Much later recorded with Bonnie Raitt & even performed on “Letterman.”
Died Nov. 1, 1986.

How cool is this turn-of-the-century fairground organ!

It plays off a "book" or a series of cards folded in a continuous loop.
The perforations dictates the pipes & drums. The moving parts at the bottom are bellows that generate the wind pressure for the pipes. 😃
