Went to the Lake District today as planned. Woke up late, went the wrong way after the first hill adding an hour long diversion across difficult terrain.

Managed to do what we planned and it was ultimately a boss day 🙏

Absolute nightmare. The venue was unavailable because it was hosting a 5k, 10k and a half marathon 💀

Fortunately it started later than parkrun at 9:30 so we got round and out to the fields before it started.

Loved my little day with Zach. Let him crawl around in some leaves under a huge tree at the park and he was made up. We also had a little picnic, but that was not the highlight for him.

We found the ball. Cut my hand, nearly fell into the river, struggled for a while to climb back up the river bank. ECSTATIC!

We went to the beach this morning. Rainy at first, but then quite pleasant.

Heather's Dad sent these photos from their day out today.

So the pink is the route I took. The light blue is the route I should have returned on if I had used my brain. The purple is the road walk back. The walk back to the campsite from Green Crag (at the bottom) was longer than the hike I did. Fortunately Heather got worried and drove out to find me

In addition to the Red Hat book, I also bought the massive Python Django book. Rainy day so we are making a start 😭

She's still not 100%, but it is Luna's birthday today. Hopefully she avoids a trip to the vet and perks up a bit.

We visited Arnside Knott on the way home. It was a compromise with Luna being a bit off. Was actually a lovely walk.

The dog who was "dying" just a few hours ago will now not settle down so I think she's probably okay.

Luna was still being weird today so we took it easy and all walked up Stanley Force. Grabbed a picture of what I think might be Hard Knott as the sun managed to break through the cloud.

Made it down by about 5ish. Saw this view of what I think is Scafell Pike

We did our route. Great Worm Crag, Green Crag and Harter Fell. With some extras. Just having a rest on the way down to our accommodation.

This is it. I'm so excited to try this. It's going to be a hard day driving there and then being ejected out of the car onto pathless moorland.

For once my walk actually has a destination instead of going in a huge circle!

Found this on our walk. Been informed that it is a "hare's foot inkcap". Apparently they're very delicate and only last a few hours.
A fungus amongst some green grass. It has a translucent white thin stem with a bowl shaped top on it. Fungus from above looking almost straight down looking inside the bowl shaped cap. It is mostly translucent white but has darker lines moving out radially from the centre to the edges.
