Cypriprdium kentuckiense - the Kentucky Lady Slipper orchid. I planted one tiny seedling in our front yard the fall of 2016 and after 3 years of no flowers it really got comfortable in this spot, multiplying every season. Little things that make me happy 😊.

This delightful orchid, Clowesia Rebecca Northen, needs a dry rest season of 3-4 months in order to bloom. It loses all its leaves and shrivels up, with zero watering, and then these lovely flower stalks emerge from what looks like a dead plant, smelling like grapefruit or pink lemonade.

Phragmipedium Jason Fischer - a heavily awarded "lady slipper" orchid hybrid created right here in Minneapolis at Orchids Limited. This one always opens up right around the holidays and will continually bloom until mid-summer.

This little beauty is Sophronitis brevipedunculata, a species from Brazil., really cramped in a tiny 2" pot.
