This delightful orchid, Clowesia Rebecca Northen, needs a dry rest season of 3-4 months in order to bloom. It loses all its leaves and shrivels up, with zero watering, and then these lovely flower stalks emerge from what looks like a dead plant, smelling like grapefruit or pink lemonade.

Phragmipedium Jason Fischer - a heavily awarded "lady slipper" orchid hybrid created right here in Minneapolis at Orchids Limited. This one always opens up right around the holidays and will continually bloom until mid-summer.

Dendrobium nobile usually blooms on a couple of last-year's canes, but every few seasons it just explodes with blooms. Always in the dead of winter when it's most appreciated 💕.

Mornings in the solarium when the Vanda tricolor #orchid is in bloom are a very fragrant experience, with strong grape jelly perfume hitting your nose as soon as you enter.

This little beauty is Sophronitis brevipedunculata, a species from Brazil., really cramped in a tiny 2" pot.
