It was weird and upsetting at the time but these days I just consider it funny and a good story. What a hill to die on.

Seriously though I was once disinvited from a weekly gaming night because I said I liked DS9. They said firmly but politely that they were a B5 household and no, you can’t like both of them. They were deeply insulted that I liked DS9 because the idea for it was “stolen”.

I feel like this is specifically about Hearts in Atlantis. Which like, how were they going to include the Crimson King/Dark Tower references without creating the Stephen King Cinematic Universe? And yet, it still felt like it missed a lot of the purpose of the story.

I grew up reciting Quran so I think I’ll be okay, though. Some of those suras are super long.
