As an Australian, I find this hard to understand. Our dollar may not be as strong as the American one, but our minimum wage is $24.10. We have sick and annual leave, and if you're a casual worker, your hourly rate is higher to make up for it. We also enjoy free healthcare and maternity leave.
We had to collect 180K signatures to put proposition A on the ballot to increase minimum wage to $13.75 and guarantee sick pay for Missourians. The measure won.
Just now, the Missouri House voted to overturn our will. Without signatures…with a vote. They do the bidding of the wealthy.

We never expected a convicted felon and rapist could run for president, nor that SCOTUS would grant such broad immunity to the position. Regrettably, many were inattentive while a fascist strategy was being crafted, leaving our world in jeopardy.
