This was one of the most interesting things presented today IMHO
iPhone 17s get a square, doubled-size front-facing camera sensor. Makes a lot of sense, and will get a ton of use by users with the Center Stage feature auto-framing the shot.

Very interesting write up of the energy, water and emissions of a Gemini Prompt by Google and how it's decreasing YoY. It's still a lot but hoping they keep investing in less consumption.

Google says it dropped the energy cost of AI queries by 33x in one year
The company claims that a text query now burns the equivalent of 9 seconds of TV.

The next time someone complains about Ryanair I can tell them about the time that I spent 4 hours on an American Airlines plane waiting to see if we could take off. Fun.

Used #ClaudeCode for 1 hour yesterday and then got rate limited but also on the normal prompting on the app. None of the models worked. Is this normal now? Wasn’t the case two weeks ago.

The joy of British Airway's website, absolutely broken 9/10 times. Amazing how they are allegedly redesigning things but it keeps on getting worse.

This ipadOS Windowing makes it look like a macOS lite, pretty cool #WWDC
June 9, 2025 at 6:20 PM
This #WWDC is so dull, basically catching up with Google and a design refresh. From the AI stuff the Translation and Phone app new features are the only interesting ones so far imho.

AI isn’t human.
AI isn’t thinking.
It’s amplifying, assisting, abstracting, and more.
Just like tools have always done.

233. "The Illusion of Thinking" — Thoughts on This Important Paper
This is a fantastic paper. I just love it. tl;dr AI is not human. Anthropomorphization has been bad for AI, LLMs, and Chat. Clippy walked so today's AI could run.

A bit annoying to have to tap to select the only option available 🤦🏻‍♂️ to access searching transactions in @monzo.com’s iOS app. I know this might be needed if you hold multiple account types but I don’t and it’s an unnecessary extra step.

Great interview about the #Cinematography of Andor, I didn't like Season 2 as much but the photography is top quality 💯 www.pushing-pixels.org/2025/05/20/c...

In the end, even with the two stops, it was still a very boring race ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Shame Charles couldn’t overtake in the last 10 laps, that’d been a mega twist.

Amazing track record for Neon, also a lot of them by A24
Neon has won the Palm d’Or six times in a row now, as Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just An Accident picks up this year’s prize ✨

It’s going to be fun to see how teams change their strategy to adapt to this in a race that otherwise was quite boring if there was no rain or safety cars.
