Smiling Friends: Season 3

Three seasons in and the magical absurdism that made this show such a huge hit has not been lost what so ever. Some all timer gags and visuals.

Yaiba: Samurai Legend

I understand it's monster of the week formula may not be necessarily what western shounen fans are looking for, but this was a winner for me. Really charming characters and fun humor. The animation and visuals paired with this story is a real match in heaven.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2

This was so bad. It tries to be scarier than the first movie, but then it fails miserably. A horror movie with no scares is like trying to drive a car with no wheels.

Good set design and animatronics. They are not enough to save this movie however.

Slay the Princess

This was an utterly demented and delightful experience. So many choices to branch the narrative out and the central performances are top-notch. Great game to revisit during Halloween.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Peak Shonen. A wonderfully tightly structured narrative with a great sense of mystery and adventure. Insane levels of polish with some legendary cuts of animation (Praise Kameda and Tanaka!) and splendid music.

The ending is as perfect as it gets.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

Kill Bill was a major defining film for my tastes as a kid growing up, so you bet your ass I had to find a excuse to watch the combined package of Part I and II in a theatrical format.

Stylish as hell, memorable characters, and is just a total blast.

Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age

It's unreal that this show has existed and has been worked on with an Avengers-level worth of scientists and crew. AND FOR THREE SEASONS!

Dunno if it's my favorite season yet, but that's just speaks to the astronomical level of quality.

Wicked: For Good

That was a solid finale. I can understand why act 2 of wicked is seen as messier and less lively compared to the first half, but Jon Chu and crew really did polished it up.

Hazbin Hotel

Watched both season 1 and 2 over the past few weeks with friends and really enjoyed myself. Really charming characters, great music, and very distinctive visuals. Season 1 is fun, if marred by possibly unavoidable pacing issues, but season 2 marks a noticeable improvement.

Spree

Joe Kerry carried the whole movie on his back. This could have been genuinely cringe in a not entertaining way, but Kerry's magnetic performance rides the balance of being pathetic while also being a credible threat fine enough.

Battlefield 6

This was definitively a much needed return to form for the series after past couple of divisive entries. The multiplayer (I.E what people are going to buy this game for) is excellent and is a cinematic experience that you can only get with Battlefield's sandbox.

Jurassic World Evolution 3

The campaign took me over 30 hours to complete, but I wanted those max completion bragging rights. I feel like most people will get it done in about 8-10 hours.

It is a real good game, though. Easily the best of the evolution trilogy.

Predator: Badlands

We won (for the third time in a row). That was a break from the traditional predator formula, and I mean that in a good way. Action-packed, funny, and has a lot of heart. Also violent as fuck. People who were concerned about the PG-13 rating have nothing to worry about here.

Cobweb

This is was a nice and eerie Halloween treat. Think what I enjoyed most was the use of shadows in conveying visual information and telling the overall story. Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr are excellent.

Please go into this movie as blind as possible.

Shelby Oaks

Chris Stuckmann does display some real promise as an upcoming filmmaker. There are some genuinely chilling moments and the atmosphere feels on point. The leading performance from Camille Sullivan is also excellent. It also looks great and is shot very well.

Fortnite

Yep.......................................................

Honestly though, this was way more fun for me than I was expecting. Playing it with my fun group is a huge plus for obvious reasons, but I can see why this game has managed to retain such stable footing for so many years.

Walking with Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D

This is the cut done by BBC Earth for the 2013 movie and was one of two alternate versions. There's also the Cretaceous Cut, which is a no-talking dino version of the film, but this is edited to work as a WW special if anything.

Limbo

This was so dope. Very simple, but elegantly designed with unforgettable visuals and challenging puzzles. Short and sweet.

When Dinosaurs Roamed America (Re-watch)

Arguably one of the more classically progressive dinosaur documentaries for the time it came out, this has aged rather well for the most part. The CG looks like it was from a movie from 2001, but it still is one of the more polished efforts out there.

Dead Space: Downfall

As a massive fan of the games, this is surprisingly my first proper viewing of the film. It's not really a great film, but I still was interested to see how it ties into the events of the original game and the film itself is totally watchable.

Little Nightmares

This was a real nice treat for myself. Really distinctive designs and an immersive atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience. Its approach to worldbuilding is also totally my jam.

Good Boy

This was a good time. The film's goal is to handle a traditional horror story from the perspective of a dog, and it nails it. As a dog owner myself, you can imagine my heart got split in two watching this.

Definitely giving my dog all of the hugs.

Walking with Dinosaurs: The Movie

Fox fucked it up.

It looks amazing visually, and there was a lot of care put into the project, but the terrible voiceovers and juvenile comedy completely ruin the whole film.

THEY NEVER STOP TALKING! LIKE, PLEASE JUST SHUT UP FOR FIVE SECONDS!
October 12, 2025 at 3:23 PM
Walking with Monsters (Re-watch)

I do think the reduced episode count is to the detriment of the show, as it had less time to settle in a particular setting like its predecessors, and some of its narrative choices were very dubious (even for the time).

The Long Walk

Man, I felt my ankles tighten up as the movie was going lol.

Such a gut-wrenching ride. Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson are going to have long and prosperous careers.
