Room and board at University of Colorado at Boulder was $18,000. $18,000 on the cheapest meal plan. That's on top of tuition and fees. If you make $180,000 that's 10% of your income. 10% of your GROSS income and you can't even get student loans.

We never used most assistance but it was one hell of a shock when it came time to pay for college that we qualified for NOTHING. Not subsidized loans, not unsubsidized loans, NOTHING. Oh, and all of those scholarships that are out there? Need based. All of them.
