Writer, web developer, cancer, father. Also, I’ll be retiring soon. Multiple myeloma, and some other stuff. Let’s do this.
Didn't we just go through that it is bad that the government or whoever can just hold your phone up to your face or use your fingerprint, but now everyone wants me to make a passkey which is just going to be my fingerprint or face scan?

Microsoft: We can't make Explorer any faster because we fired all of those guys to keep up with the other tech companies in the Wall Street analysts notes, but you can have headings in Notepad now.

Did I just get an update to Paint with my Windows update? Go off Microsoft.

So, it turns out there is also a YouTube Year In Review. It seems I watch a lot of videos about gate repair... and electric cars. But, #1 is movie trailers. The truth is, I don't really watch that much YouTube, and of most of what I watch, my kid is showing me on his account, so I'm sure it was pret

You get mad at politics and politicians. I get mad when people don't like the books I liked. "What do you mean, '2.5 stars,' Dolores?" They shouldn't let dummies like you even have library cards. Why don't you just stay home and listen to podcasts about gardening you'll never do!

"Hah! Hah! Victory, stupid selling out store."

The problem with personal finance twitter is that people think the spreadsheet is the proof. This is what happens when too many people finish math too soon after blowing it off because they aren't good at it. What goes IN your spreadsheet matters, a lot.

People: "Why can't I just transfer money to my friend. You banks are so stupid."

Also People: "I sent money with Venmo to the wrong person. Why can't you banks get my money back?"

I hate how MBA CEOs who cared more about Wall Street than their company ruined hundreds of American brands. Now, I don't know if a Fridgedare is higher quality, or if some Chinese manufacturer just bought the name.

Don't forget. We already had great American companies making stuff here in America, but Wall Street cheered on CEOs that fired people, moved manufacturing overseas, and gutted the business to maximize quarterly earnings, so that's exactly what they did.

This article is going viral. In it the author claims the poverty line is too low. His calculation about what it should be is way too high. What is 100% accurate is the huge disconnect caused by government insisting that Americans just over the middle class line are rich.

I've become obsessed with corner bookcases. Solve the issue of what to do with the corner with one piece of furniture. And, it holds books!

I liked Tron Ares. Did it change my worldview? No. Did it challenge me intellectually? No. Did I for one second not know what was going to happen? No. Was it fun as all get out? Hell, yeah! You all can go watch your Oscar nominations and leave the fun ones to us.

If you're a dad, and you are getting ready to start camping with your kids, forget about whatever you used to do and get an inflatable tent. I'm not joking. 1000% easier. 1000% less likely to leak or lean or fall over. 100% more likely to result in happy campers.

The description says "unisex tent" and now I'm questioning all of my tent purchases until now.

Doesn't using a stock photo of a used item kind of defeat the purpose?

It's time to focus healthcare reform on cost. We have insurance and we're fucked anyway. Out-of-pocket maximum + premiums = $20,000. You can't fix that with bullshit like where you send subsidies. It's the COST, not the savings or taxes or insurance.

One of the unsung benefits of a password manager is being able to tell if you have been somewhere before. Did I buy used books here once?

I wish I had the little cute version of ADHD. I just finally remembered to get my meds. Then, I went to sink to get a glass of water to take them with. Drank the glass of water and went to my office, where I realized I was still holding the pills.

You know, I'd be on your side about that sign at the all you can eat restaurant that says they charge you for uneaten food if I hadn't seen so many jackasses take every single crab leg they bring out only to leave over half of it sitting on their table.
