I don't think CBT is necessarily about punishing negative thoughts as it is to recognize where we are coming from holistically and authentically, then we are able to grasp on to an alternative thought utilizing a reality check

I think this is often overlooked in traditional CBT and in a world where we can see things in a negative filter or view ourselves as inherently wrong when there is an equally efficient strengths perspective that can balance agency with reinforcement instead of harsh punishment.

I usually also like to include re-affirming these cognitions, emotions, behaviors, and sensations non judgmentally, understanding ourselves as we are in the moment.

There's a few things that come to mind: inherent reality of home life coming forward on the weekend with responsibilities, hiding things from people around you, being too busy, social norms of not being on your phone. Think extravert vs introverted spectrum implications, too.

I wouldnt think so with the implications of eastern philosophy. This aversion would also be highly individualized in terms of Jung.
